Responsible for ensuring the quality of products being produced and delivered to our customers. Manage country-wide factory site inspections and audits on behalf of our customers for their delivering products and processes that meet customer specifications anchored in the highest quality standards and global compliance requirements.

Manage an experienced team of inspectors to conduct quality inspections across various product stages, including onsite tracking of continuous and preventative actions (CAPA). Ensure our customers of a consistent and effective approach in our processes toward achieving product quality and quality performance. For example, implement customer quality control procedures to each quality standard and coordinate action plans with the leadership team.

Work on a cross-functional team of experts responsible for the quality control, assurance, and compliance of our raw materials and finished goods. The textile and Apparel Quality inspection team is responsible for the final finished goods quality shipped to our customers.

This role will grow to work in close collaboration with Sourcing and Lab services teams to deliver quality and compliant products. Requires a hands-on working style focusing on material excellence, quality assurance, and strong English communication with the overseas Customer and their domestic supplier factories.

Core Inspection and Audit activities:

  • Carrying out sample inspections and sample checks throughout the production cycle, from incoming material to delivery of products
  • Ensuring product meets brand and quality standards, verifying requirements early, and identifying potential issues
  • Performing needed routine functional tests onsite
  • Conducting final inspections and statistical audits to ensure all shipments meet Customer’s brand quality standards
  • Escalating quality issues and failed audits to the Customer in advance of their shipment loading
  • Completing final and other various reports for each stage of inspection and reviewing those findings with vendors and stakeholders
  • Monitoring and tracking work in progress, escalating capacity issues and identifying inspection peak to Customer QPM
  • Supporting continuous improvement and identifying potential vendor social labor issues
  • Carrying out inline and end-of-line audits
  • Following up with vendor quality personnel on corrective actions (CAPA)

Quality Assurance and Control Activities

  • Develop, implement, and manage inspection processes to ensure that products meet the required customer specifications for quality, function, and reliability based on Customer defined protocols and industry-recognized standards before delivery.
  • Risk assessment on merchandise, starting from raw materials and including process control and implementation of statistical process control (SPC) tolls, both during manufacturing and inspection.
  • Identify, set, monitor, and enforce appropriate product quality standards and parameters/testing protocols.
  • Communicate quality standards and parameters to the inspection team, manufacturing partners, and customer team. Develop, seek approval and execute product and process acceptance standards and their associated tolerances.
  • Develop and execute product testing standards per ASTM and AATCC testing guidelines.
  • Coordinate product testing processes with all relevant parties. Collaborate with third-party testing labs, and agencies, on implementing and validating testing, audits, quality and sustainability certificate, and initiatives of facilities, processes, and products.
  • Negotiate costs with third-party labs.
  • Establish SOP and monitor testing and inspection of products and materials to ensure the finished products meet product specifications and quality standards.
  • Maintain compliance with local and organizational laws and HR policies
  • Work with the customer quality team on the quality issue and charge back to their vendors.
  • Manage & coach critical stakeholders to improve quality management at supplier sites
  • Deploy technical, quality, and process knowledge to all stakeholders
  • Design & operate oline/offline training programs for both internal & external stakeholders
  • Organize and manage international 3rd party service providers to perform factory audits, pre-shipment inspections, and process inspections
  • Provide data analysis management & supports to the SQM team
  • Pre-qualification and onsite factory inspection of Customer identified suppliers to confirm their compliance with industry and global standards.
  • Onboarding, training, and implementing quality processes/standards with new customer manufacturing partners.
  • Monitor Performance & Compliance: Ongoing audit, an inspection of facility and products through various processes including but not limited to onsite visits, work-in-progress review/testing, spot inspections in a distribution network, and request for certification/compliance documents.
  • Annual review of documents and certifications.
  • Maintain, build, and expand the supplier relationship to ensure engagement, loyalty, and trust.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Training of new hires on Industry Best-practices and Customer quality standards and protocols
  • Oversee the daily/weekly workflow and schedules of the department and suppliers.
  • Mentor direct reports through continuous interaction and engagement, including goal setting, performance review
  • Encourage change and improvement in performance and quality.
  • Develop and manage expense budget in support of initiatives with approvals of supervisor

Required experience

  • You have 10+ years of QA/QC experience in the Textile and Garment industry
  • You have 3+ years of QA/QC manager experience
  • You are proficient in the use of the Microsoft Office suite, documentation, and report writing
  • You have a strong knowledge of fabric, garment sewing, taping, gluing, and washing
  • You have an excellent understanding of printing and embroidery
  • You are knowledgeable in material bonding and lamination
  • You have working experience following a production and shipping schedule
  • You have strong written and spoken English communication skills
  • You are proactive in identifying the root cause of issues and developing solutions
  • You remain highly flexible and adaptable when faced with ambiguity
  • You effectively balance autonomy and collaboration
  • You inspire breakthrough thinking and continuous improvement
  • You seek the best (sometimes not the easiest) solutions with an unwavering commitment to do what is right

Education

  • Degree (strongly preferred) or Diploma from Polytechnic with a major in Textile or Apparel or Garment Manufacture
