Introduction Aga Khan University, chartered in 1983 as Pakistans first private international university, is committed to the provision of education, research, and health care of international standard relevant to Pakistan and the region. The affiliated Aga Khan University Hospital provides state-of-the art clinical facilities and well-equipped diagnostic services. The University currently has teaching sites in Pakistan, East Africa, the United Kingdom, and Afghanistan, and is a major component of Aga Khan Development Network.
The Outreach and Research Programme of the Department of Paediatrics and Child Health has ten community-based field sites across Pakistan (including four in Karachi) and focuses on research for betterment of women and child health. The Department has a Nutritional Research Laboratory as well as an Infectious Disease Research Laboratory that cater to the needs of its research projects. It has well-acclaimed work to its credit both at the national and international level.
The Aga Khan University invites applications for the grant-funded contractual position of Data Collector in the Department of Paediatrics and Child Health. Responsibilities You will be responsible to:
  • review medical records of patients and obtain the information required for the study
  • contact the parents and explain the purpose of the study over the phone
  • arrange and coordinate clinic appointments
  • perform any other logistic support that may be needed for the project
Requirements You should have:
  • a matriculation or above
  • at least one year experience in community/ research facility. Person with experience of public interaction will be preferred
  • ability to give oral instructions/information to patients and parents in colloquial English and/or Urdu
  • effective communication skills
  • ability to demonstrate professional integrity
  • ability to understand and follow instruction
  • ability to speak and understand job related English and Urdu
  • a knowledge of basic computer skills (MS Word, Excel)
