Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Trainee Finance & Accounts Officer with expertise in NVOCC (Non-Vessel Operating Common Carrier) operations to manage the financial and accounting functions of the business. The ideal candidate will Checking SOA, financial planning, cost control, compliance, and financial reporting, ensuring operational efficiency and profitability in the logistics and shipping sector.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Financial Management

• Develop and manage financial strategies, budgets, and forecasts specific to NVOCC operations.
• Monitor cash flow, working capital, and financial performance to ensure business sustainability.
• Optimize cost management strategies, including freight costs, port charges, and vendor payments.

2. Accounting Operations)

• Manage day-to-day accounting tasks, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, invoicing, and reconciliations.
• Agents SOA, collections, and payments, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
• Maintain accurate and transparent financial records and ensure compliance with accounting standards.

3. Regulatory Compliance

• Ensure compliance with international accounting standards (IFRS/GAAP) and shipping-specific regulations (e.g., FMC).
• Handle taxation processes, including GST, VAT, and other shipping-related taxes.
• Coordinate with external auditors and regulatory bodies for audits, filings, and financial reviews.

4. Reporting and Analysis

• Prepare and present periodic financial reports, including P&L statements, balance sheets, and cash flow summaries.
• Conduct financial analysis on revenue streams, cost structures, and profitability trends.
• Provide actionable insights and recommendations to senior management for strategic decision-making.

5. Process Improvement

• Implement and improve financial systems and processes tailored to NVOCC operations.
• Establish strong internal controls to minimize risks and improve financial accuracy.
• Streamline payment processes, ensuring seamless coordination with shipping lines and agent and depots.

6. Team and Stakeholder Management

• Lead and mentor the finance and accounts team to ensure high performance.
• Collaborate with operations, logistics, and sales teams to align financial strategies with business goals.
• Maintain relationships with banks, financial institutions, and external stakeholders for funding and transactions.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (MBA finance , B.com , BBA finance , ACCA, or equivalent certification preferred).
• Minimum 5+ years of experience in finance and accounting, with at least 2 years in NVOCC, shipping, or logistics.
• Strong knowledge of freight accounting, billing systems, and international payment processes.
• Expertise in financial reporting, compliance, and audit processes.

Key Skills:

• Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Tally).
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
• Sound understanding of shipping documents (e.g., bills of lading, freight invoices).
• Effective communication and stakeholder management abilities.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience in handling multi-currency transactions and foreign exchange

management.

• Familiarity with FMC, IMO regulations, and international trade compliance.
• Knowledge of tax implications specific to the shipping and logistics industry.
