ASO Specialist

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive ASO strategy for all Android games in our portfolio, ensuring maximum visibility and discoverability on the Google Play Store.
  • Perform extensive keyword research and competitor analysis to identify opportunities for increasing organic downloads and improving store rankings.
  • Optimize all metadata elements, including titles, short and long descriptions, tags, and developer pages, to align with high-performing keywords and trends in the mobile gaming space.
  • Plan and implement creative store listing A/B tests, including variations in app icons, screenshots, feature graphics, and promo videos to identify what drives the best conversion rates and installs.
  • Collaborate closely with product managers, UA teams, creative designers, and game developers to ensure consistent messaging and optimization across all marketing channels.
  • Regularly analyze and report on ASO performance using key metrics like impressions, click-through rates, conversion rates, and keyword rankings. Deliver actionable insights and data-driven recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Stay up to date with Google Play algorithm changes, ASO best practices, and mobile gaming industry trends, and proactively adapt strategies to maintain a competitive edge.
  • Lead localization efforts for different markets (if applicable), ensuring metadata and creative assets are optimized for each language and cultural context.
  • Maintain a robust ASO testing calendar and document findings and learnings to build a knowledge base for ongoing improvements.
  • Benchmark against top-performing competitor games, tracking their metadata changes, feature placements, and category movements to stay ahead in the market.
  • Identify new growth opportunities through emerging ASO techniques, experimental channels, or app store features (e.g., promotional content, custom store listings, in-app events).

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in a related field.
  • 5-10 years of hands-on ASO experience, specifically focused on Android mobile games.
  • Proven track record of improving organic visibility, installs, and conversion rates on the Google Play Store.
  • Strong analytical and data interpretation skills; ability to turn performance metrics into optimization strategies.
  • Proficiency in ASO and app intelligence tools such as Sensor Tower, AppTweak, Mobile Action, Data.ai, or similar.
  • Experience with A/B testing platforms and frameworks (Google Play Experiments, Firebase, etc.).
  • Understanding of mobile game KPIs including CPI, retention, LTV, ROAS, etc.
  • Familiarity with Google Play Console and its features like custom store listings, deep linking, and in-app events.
