Financial Controller

Position Overview:This role is responsible for overseeing the companys accounting operations, ensuring financial accuracy, regulatory compliance, and the implementation of strong internal controls to protect the organizations financial integrity and assets.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Oversee all accounting functions, including billing, accounts receivable (A/R), accounts payable (A/P), general ledger (GL), and revenue recognition.
• Lead the preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts; monitor and report on variances.
• Prepare and publish accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reports and ensure compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal regulations.
• Supervise the month-end and year-end close processes.
• Maintain high standards for financial reporting and ensure quality control over all financial transactions.
• Ensure timely and accurate tax filings and compliance with government reporting requirements.
• Develop, implement, and document accounting policies and business processes to enhance internal controls.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for external auditors and support the annual audit process.
• Provide strategic insights on financial performance, including revenue and expenditure trends, financial commitments, and future revenue projections.
• Analyze financial data and present clear, actionable reports to senior management.
• Lead, mentor, and support the accounting team to ensure efficient daily operations.
• Manage the companys income tax, sales tax, and other tax-related matters.

Required Elements for the Role:

• Chartered Accountant (CA)/ Part Qualified Chartered Accountant
• Working experience with top 5 audit firms
• Proven experience in a similar position of 3-5 years
• Understanding of corporate and provincial tax is a must
• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics is a plus
• Strong attention to detail and good analytical skills.
