DeafTawk was launched in 2018 with a mission to bridge the communication gap for deaf people around the world. We are at the forefront of technological advancements while making a significant difference in the lives of people who rely on sign language for communication with our mobile app around the globe. DeafTawk is currently operating in 5 different countries including Singapore, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Denmark, and Puerto Rico with its Headquarters in Singapore.

DeafTawk is looking to hire an enthstic Startup Community Executive dedicated to nurturing connections and fostering a vibrant community atmosphere for one of its Flagship Programs - Innovation Challenge Futuremakers, Pakistans first fast track acceleration program for entrepreneurs with disabilities. This initiative is a joint effort by DeafTawk and Sightsavers with Standard Chartered as a funding partner in this program. By far, under ICF 35 entrepreneurs with disabilities with 33% women founders have been facilitated in 2 cohorts.

Job Description:

As a Startup Community Executive at DeafTawk, you will play a pivotal role in building and nurturing our community ecosystem. You will be responsible for driving engagement, fostering relationships, and advocating for the needs of our community members. This role requires a strategic mindset, excellent communication skills, and a passion for creating impactful connections within the startup ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the primary point of contact for the ICF startups.
  • Maintain regular communication channels with startups to understand their needs and challenges.
  • Facilitate introductions and connections between startups and relevant stakeholders.
  • Provide guidance and assistance to startups during the application process.
  • Assist in conducting brief orientation sessions for selected startups, introducing them to the community ecosystem.
  • Assist in outlining the roadmap and expectations for their participation within the community.
  • Assist in the onboarding process, ensuring startups have access to necessary resources and information.
  • Assist the team in collaborating with startups to assess their specific needs and requirements.
  • Assist the team in connecting startups with suitable mentors and industry experts based on their areas of interest and expertise.
  • Facilitate mentorship sessions and monitor progress to ensure effective guidance.
  • Facilitate various networking events, workshops, and meetups for startups to connect with peers, investors, and potential collaborators.
  • Foster a supportive environment for knowledge sharing and collaboration among community members.
  • Identify and share relevant opportunities with startups, including funding opportunities, partnerships, and events.
  • Gather feedback from startups regarding their experience within the community, including curriculum effectiveness and mentorship quality.
  • Assist the team to refine and improve the curriculum based on feedback and emerging trends.
  • Assist in sourcing qualified individuals to deliver curriculum content and mentorship sessions.
  • Actively engage with community members through online platforms, forums, and social media channels.
  • Encourage participation and foster a sense of belonging within the community.
  • Assist in the planning and execution of community events, such as demo days, pitch competitions, and industry conferences.
  • Monitor the progress and achievements of startups within the community.
  • Track key metrics and report on the impact of community initiatives.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies relevant to the startup ecosystem.
  • Continuously seek opportunities for personal and professional development.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in business, communications, marketing, or a related field.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage and connect with diverse audiences.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
  • Preferably 2-3 years of experience working within the startup eco system.
  • Passion for startups, entrepreneurship, and technology, with a deep understanding of the startup ecosystem and community dynamics.
  • Creative thinker with a proactive and collaborative approach to problem-solving.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team in a fast-paced environment.

Job Type: Position requires on-site, full-time commitment.
