Luna Cafe is a premium café serving an exquisite selection of coffee, drinks, desserts, and sandwiches in an upscale setting. Our focus is on providing exceptional service and quality to create a memorable experience for our customers. We are looking for an experienced and dynamic Operations Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our café, ensuring smooth service, excellent team performance, and a high-quality customer experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee Café Operations: Manage the overall daily operations of the café, ensuring efficient processes and outstanding service throughout both shifts (16-hour operational day).
- Lead the Shift Managers: Supervise and support two shift managers who will handle their respective shifts, ensuring smooth transitions and adherence to operational standards.
- Staff Management: Hire, train, and provide ongoing development for café staff, including baristas, servers, kitchen staff, and shift managers. Ensure the team is motivated, knowledgeable, and committed to upholding café standards.
- Inventory & Supplies Management: Oversee inventory levels for all products, ensuring the café is well-stocked with premium ingredients, coffee beans, desserts, drinks, and other supplies. Implement efficient ordering and stock rotation systems.
- Customer Experience: Maintain a high standard of customer service, ensuring that guests have an exceptional experience with every visit. Handle customer inquiries and resolve any issues or complaints promptly.
- Financial Management: Monitor daily financial performance, including sales, expenses, and labor costs. Work to meet budgeted targets and find opportunities for operational improvements.
- Quality Control: Ensure all menu items (coffee, drinks, desserts, sandwiches) are prepared and presented according to the café’s premium standards. Conduct regular quality checks to maintain consistency.
- Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure that all health, safety, and cleanliness regulations are followed. Maintain a clean and safe working environment for staff and customers alike.
- Reporting: Prepare regular operational reports and communicate effectively with senior management regarding performance, challenges, and opportunities.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Previous experience in operations management, preferably in the food & beverage or hospitality industry.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, develop, and manage a team.
- Experience in managing multiple shifts and overseeing a team of managers.
- In-depth knowledge of café operations, food safety regulations, and inventory management.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent customer service skills and a focus on delivering a high-quality guest experience.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Financial acumen with experience managing budgets, expenses, and revenue.
- Passion for coffee, food, and the café culture.
- Flexibility to work varying hours, including weekends and evenings.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in managing an upscale or premium café/restaurant.
- Previous experience with POS systems and restaurant management software.
- Knowledge of specialty coffee and premium beverage trends.
