Position Core Shed Technicians
Location Reko Diq Mine Site – Balochistan
Qualification Minimum intermediate
Requirements
  • Basic English (ability and willingness to communicate with expat)
  • Computer / IT knowledge (ability to undertake basic MS Office and Windows tasks)
  • Physical ability to move light objects and walk longer distances in the field.
  • Knowledge of safety and environmental policies and practices, and willingness to develop related skills sets required.
  • Maintain a valid driver’s license for light vehicles. Ability to safely and effectively operate light vehicles required.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks with shifting priorities required.
  • Basic math skills required.
  • Ability to read and understand material retrieval requests, collect these materials and ship accordingly.

Responsibilities
  • Demonstrate safety leadership and safety consciousness.
  • Conduct daily workplace inspections and field risk assessments.
  • Operate diamond core saw to cut the core samples at respected intervals.
  • Coordinate and lay out samples for logging by geologists.
  • Manage QAQC samples and insertion at required frequency.
  • Accurately photographs drill core and chips ensuring natural colors and minimal distortion, using the Imago program.
  • Coordinate timely sample shipments to laboratories and complete required forms accurately.
  • Management of sample inventory and related warehouse material
  • Create and submit sample submittals.
  • Operate light vehicles and equipment including forklifts and skid steer.
  • Task train coworkers in equipment and procedures
  • Assist geologists in their daily work in the core shed and in the field.
  • Collect high quality geological data for geological and geotechnical work.
  • Tasks include operating Core Scan equipment.
  • Take core photos and process them.
  • Take measurements of physical properties on geological samples like specific gravity and magnetic susceptibility.
