Position: Construction ManagerLocation: IslamabadProject Type: High-Rise Building Project

1. Position Overview

The Construction Manager will be responsible for planning, directing, and supervising the construction activities of a high-rise building project in Islamabad. The role includes managing site operations, ensuring quality and safety standards, coordinating with consultants and contractors, and ensuring the project is completed on time, within budget, and as per approved specifications.

2. Key Responsibilities

Project Planning & Execution

• Develop and implement detailed construction work plans and schedules.
• Oversee daily site operations and ensure smooth workflow.
• Coordinate with architects, structural engineers, MEP consultants, and contractors.

Site Supervision & Progress Monitoring

• Monitor construction progress against timelines and take corrective actions where required.
• Ensure all construction activities comply with approved drawings and specifications.
• Conduct regular site inspections to maintain quality workmanship.

Contractor & Workforce Management

• Supervise subcontractors, labor teams, and site staff.
• Ensure timely availability of manpower, machinery, and materials.
• Resolve site issues and disputes promptly and professionally.

Quality Assurance & Safety Compliance

• Ensure strict adherence to quality standards, building codes (CDA/PEC), and project specifications.
• Implement and enforce safety procedures (HSE) across all construction activities.
• Conduct site safety meetings and ensure compliance by all site personnel.

Material Management & Cost Control

• Verify and approve material requisitions and ensure timely procurement.
• Monitor material usage to control wastage and avoid cost overruns.
• Coordinate with the procurement and accounts departments for project-related expenses.

Reporting & Documentation

• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports for management.
• Maintain site records, inspection logs, and documentation as per company standards.
• Report project risks, bottlenecks, and propose practical solutions.

3. Education & Experience Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (BSc/BE).
• PEC registration preferred.
• 8–15 years of experience in building construction, with at least 3–5 years on high-rise projects.
• Strong knowledge of structure works, finishing, MEP coordination, and façade works.

4. Skills & Competencies

• Excellent project management and leadership skills.
• Strong technical understanding of high-rise construction processes.
• Effective communication and coordination abilities.
• Problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Proficiency in MS Project / Primavera, AutoCAD, and other site management tools.
• Strong understanding of local construction regulations (CDA, Building By-Laws, Islamabad codes).

5. Work Environment

• Full-time site-based role.
