graph8 runs ausage-based SaaS platform with a marketplace component. Billing, payouts, costs, and cash flow are core to the business model.

We are hiring asenior, hands-on finance operatorto own:

• Costs and budgeting
• Monthly billing via Stripe + Stripe Connect
• Cash flow and runway
• Investor-grade financial reporting

This role exists to ensure the company always hasclean numbers, tight cost control, and zero ambiguity around billing and cash.

This is anexecution-heavy IC role, not a people-management role.

What you will own (end-to-end)

1. Cost ownership & budgeting
2. Own all operating expenses across graph8 and the CIENCE business unit
3. Build budgets with the CEO and operate independently within them
4. Enforce spend controls and approval rules
5. Track burn vs plan and proactively flag variances
6. Continuously optimize costs using automation and AI before adding headcount
7. Billing & revenue operations (core)
8. Own monthly billing end-to-end
9. Own Stripe and Stripe Connect flows for:
10. Platform billing
11. Credit- and usage-based charges
12. Partner / marketplace payouts
13. Reconcile monthly:
14. Platform usage → invoices
15. Invoices → Stripe charges
16. Stripe charges → payouts → accounting
17. Ensure clear understanding of:
18. Gross vs net revenue
19. Platform fees
20. Partner payouts
21. Refunds, credits, chargebacks
22. Deliver revenue numbers that are clean, explainable, and investor-ready
23. Cash flow & financial reporting
24. Own cash flow forecasting and runway visibility
25. Produce monthly reporting:
26. Cash position and runway
27. Burn vs plan
28. P&L by business unit
29. Gross margin by product and usage
30. Headcount cost vs plan
31. Maintain dashboards in Rillet that leadership trusts and uses
32. Answer cash, burn, and margin questions quickly and confidently
33. Systems, execution & leverage
34. Work hands-on in:
35. Rillet (reporting and close)
36. Stripe + Stripe Connect (billing, payouts, reconciliation)
37. Ramp (expenses)
38. Own the monthly close in partnership with the bookkeeping firm
39. Use AI and modern planning tools to:
40. Automate reconciliation and variance detection
41. Speed up scenario modeling
42. Reduce manual finance operations
43. Investor & external interface
44. Support investor updates with accurate financials
45. Maintain financial artifacts for diligence
46. Coordinate with accounting, legal, and external finance partners
47. Ensure financial data is consistent, auditable, and explainable

How you operate

• You are a high-leverage individual contributor
• You personally own execution, not review
• You automate before asking for headcount
• You understand billing mechanics deeply, not abstractly
• You work directly with the CEO on budgets and priorities

Decision authority

• Full autonomy within agreed budgets and rules
• Independent approval of spend and reallocations
• CEO involved for strategy and exceptions, not day-to-day execution

What this role is NOT

• Not a CFO title role
• Not a people-management role
• Not a BigCo finance position
• Not a bookkeeping-only role

Required capabilities (non-negotiable)

• Proven ownership of:
• Operating costs and budgeting
• Stripe billing and Stripe Connect marketplaces
• Monthly reconciliation of usage, invoices, payouts, and fees
• Cash flow and runway forecasting
• Strong understanding of:
• Gross vs net revenue in marketplaces
• Partner payouts and platform fees
• Hands-on experience with:
• Stripe + Stripe Connect
• Expense management tools (Ramp or similar)
• Modern close/reporting tools (Rillet or equivalent)
• Strong financial modeling skills (Sheets / Excel)
• Demonstrated use of AI or automation to improve speed and accuracy
• Comfortable operating as the sole finance owner

Role growth & future structure

This role operates atCFO-level depthbut does not promise a CFO title. As graph8 scales, the company may add a US-based CFO for board, investor, and regulatory leadership.

This role is expected to remain theowner of finance execution, billing systems, and financial data integrity, partnering closely with that CFO.
