Sr Backend Developer (ROR) at Veroke

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Ruby on Rails Developer to join our technology team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of designing, developing, and scaling high-performance web applications. In this role, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams, mentor junior developers, and ensure the delivery of secure, efficient, and reliable software solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Provide accurate task estimations and deliver assignments within agreed timelines.
• Design, develop, and maintain clean, scalable, and well-tested code.
• Implement unit and integration tests to ensure software quality.
• Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and other stakeholders to deliver robust applications.
• Optimize code for maximum performance, security, and scalability.
• Maintain and improve existing systems by identifying and resolving issues.
• Manage code versioning and participate in regular code reviews.
• Research and adopt emerging technologies to enhance product development.
• Lead, mentor, and guide team members through knowledge sharing and training.
• Contribute to the recruitment process by evaluating technical candidates.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of professional experience in Ruby on Rails development.
• Strong expertise in commonly used gems such as Devise and Pundit.
• Proven experience in building and scaling large-scale, production-level web applications with API integrations.
• Hands-on experience with performance optimization, stress testing, and tuning RoR applications.
• Strong knowledge of the testing pyramid and proficiency with RSpec.
• Full-stack capability with proficiency in Rails, Ruby, ES6, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
• Advanced SQL skills and ability to write optimized queries.
• Practical experience with CI/CD pipelines, AWS, Docker, and Kubernetes.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a strong sense of ownership.
