Backend Developer

Job Overview:

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Backend Developer specializing in WordPress to lead the development and optimization of scalable, high-performance websites. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in WordPress core, custom plugin/theme development, API integrations, and database management. Experience with additional backend technologies and CMS platforms is a strong plus.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Architect, develop, and optimize custom WordPress themes and plugins.
  • Design and implement scalable, high-performance backend solutions.
  • Develop and integrate RESTful APIs, third-party services, and external data sources.
  • Optimize database performance (MySQL, WP_Query, caching mechanisms).
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex backend issues efficiently.
  • Implement security best practices, data protection policies, and role-based access controls.
  • Lead backend development efforts in collaboration with frontend developers and designers.
  • Maintain version control (Git), CI/CD pipelines, and deployment workflows.

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in WordPress backend development.
  • Strong expertise in PHP, WordPress core, custom theme/plugin development.
  • Proficiency in MySQL database design, optimization, and performance tuning.
  • Experience with WordPress REST API, GraphQL, hooks, filters, and headless CMS solutions.
  • Strong understanding of security best practices, authentication mechanisms, and data protection.
  • Familiarity with server-side performance optimization (caching, CDN, query optimization, etc.).
  • Experience with Git, version control workflows, and cloud hosting platforms (AWS, GCP, DigitalOcean, etc.).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with WooCommerce, ACF, Elementor, and other WordPress-related tools.
  • Knowledge of additional backend languages like Node.js, Python, or Laravel is a plus.
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices, Docker, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Ability to mentor junior developers and contribute to code reviews.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Rs90,000.00 - Rs130,000.00 per month
