Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Credit Control Officer to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in credit control functions, including GRN handling, invoicing, and tax management, along with proven experience using ERP systems. This role requires excellent organizational skills, financial accuracy, and effective communication with internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the preparation and processing of Bid Bond sheets for tenders and contracts.
- Handle Goods Receipt Notes (GRNs) to ensure accurate financial documentation of received goods.
- Generate and verify customer invoices, ensuring alignment with purchase orders and deliveries.
- Conduct customer payment follow-ups to ensure timely collections and maintain healthy cash flow.
- Manage income tax and withholding tax deductions in compliance with local laws and regulations.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records within the ERP system.
- Reconcile customer accounts and resolve billing or payment discrepancies.
- Liaise with internal departments and clients regarding outstanding invoices or payment disputes.
- Prepare credit reports and assist in developing and implementing credit control procedures.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelors degree in Commerce or Business Administration (B.Com / BBA).
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in credit control, accounts receivable, or financial operations.
- Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks, or similar platforms).
- Sound knowledge of taxation policies related to income and withholding tax.
- Strong understanding of financial documents such as GRNs, invoices, and bid bond sheets.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and follow-up skills.
- High level of accuracy, integrity, and confidentiality in handling financial data.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
