Role description

We are seeking an experienced IAM Authentication Security Specialist to design, implement, and maintain secure, scalable authentication solutions across our enterprise. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in multi-factor authentication (MFA), passwordless solutions, federated identity protocols, and privileged access management (PAM), with a strong focus on Zero Trust principles and regulatory compliance.

This role will also support incident response, threat detection, and integration of IAM solutions with modern cloud environments, DevOps workflows, and enterprise applications.

Key Responsibilities

Authentication Strategy & Implementation

  • Design and deploy secure authentication architectures, including MFA, passwordless, and adaptive authentication.

  • Develop and manage federated identity solutions using SAML, OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, and SCIM.

  • Implement Privileged Access Management (PAM) to safeguard sensitive credentials and accounts.

Security & Risk Mitigation

  • Assess and mitigate risks from brute force attacks, credential stuffing, session hijacking, and ATO (Account Takeover) threats.

  • Implement Zero Trust authentication models with continuous access evaluation and least privilege principles.

  • Conduct IAM security audits and ensure alignment with compliance frameworks such as NIST, ISO 27001, PCI-DSS, HIPAA, and CMMC.

IAM Technology Integration

  • Deploy and manage IAM solutions such as Okta, Azure AD, Ping Identity, ForgeRock, CyberArk, or RSA SecurID.

  • Integrate IAM systems with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), CI/CD pipelines, and enterprise SaaS applications.

  • Develop and manage custom IAM authentication flows, APIs, and connectors to support business needs.

Incident Response & Threat Intelligence

  • Monitor authentication logs for anomalies, suspicious login activity, insider threats, and ATO attempts.

  • Collaborate with SOC, red teams, and threat intelligence teams to test authentication systems against real-world attack scenarios.

  • Automate IAM threat detection and response using SIEM, SOAR, and identity analytics platforms.

Compliance & Governance

  • Ensure IAM authentication aligns with regulatory frameworks such as Zero Trust, GDPR, ITAR, and CMMC.

  • Define and enforce RBAC and ABAC models to ensure secure access provisioning.

  • Collaborate with compliance teams to develop IAM security policies, produce audit reports, and meet governance requirements.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field.

  • 7+ years of experience in Identity & Access Management (IAM), authentication security, and access control.

  • Deep expertise in MFA, SSO, identity federation (SAML/OIDC/OAuth2), and passwordless authentication.

  • Hands-on experience with IAM platforms: Okta, Azure AD, Ping Identity, CyberArk, ForgeRock, or RSA SecurID.

  • Familiarity with IAM security frameworks including NIST 800-63, FIDO2, Zero Trust Architecture, and CIS IAM Benchmarks.

  • Proficient in integrating IAM solutions with cloud infrastructure, DevOps pipelines, and enterprise applications.

Preferred Certifications(Nice to Have)

  • CISSP - Certified Information Systems Security Professional

  • CISM - Certified Information Security Manager

  • CIAM - Certified Identity and Access Manager

  • Okta Certified Professional / Administrator

  • Microsoft SC-300 - Identity and Access Administrator

  • GIAC - GLEG, GSNA, GCIH, or other relevant certifications
