The incumbent will play a critical role in managing, optimizing, and ensuring the security of health information databases supporting immunization and disease surveillance programs. The role involves database design, maintenance, performance tuning, and data integrity assurance, with a focus on supporting systems such as NEIR, EPIMIS, and other systems. The incumbent will ensure the efficient operation, security, and integrity of health information databases to support data collection, analysis, and reporting for immunization and disease surveillance programs.

The incumbent will perform below tasks:

1. Design, implement, and maintain relational and non-relational databases for health information systems.

2. Ensure databases are optimized for performance, scalability, and reliability.

3. Perform regular database maintenance tasks, including backups, indexing, and performance tuning.

4. Monitor database performance and implement improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce downtime.

5. Implement and maintain robust security measures to protect sensitive health data.

6. Ensure data integrity and accuracy through regular audits and validation procedures.

7. Facilitate the integration of data from various sources, ensuring consistency and compatibility.

8. Manage data migration processes for system upgrades or transitions, minimizing data loss or corruption.

9. Provide technical support for database-related issues, ensuring timely resolution to minimize disruption.

10. Collaborate with software developers, data analysts, and IT staff to address database-related challenges.

11. Maintain comprehensive documentation of database configurations, procedures, and protocols.

12. Provide regular reports on database performance, security incidents, and maintenance activities.

13. Train and mentor team members and stakeholders on database management best practices.

14. Develop training materials and conduct sessions to enhance the capacity of database users.

15. Perform any other related task, as required.


Recruitment Profile


Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field is mandatory. Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field is desirable.

Experience:

  • At least 1 year of experience in database administration, with a focus on health information systems preferred.

Functional Knowledge and Skills:

  • Proficiency in database management systems such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, or SQL Server.
  • Strong knowledge of database security, backup and recovery, and performance tuning.
  • Experience with data integration and migration tools and techniques.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Language: Good knowledge of English and local language (Urdu).
