 The Aga Khan University Hospital is a not-for-profit healthcare institute that offers all medical services to their patients under one roof. The Nutrition and Food Services Department (NFSD) provides a range of products and services to students, faculty, staff as well as patients and their attendants. It comprises of a team of experienced clinical nutritionists, dietitians, and foodservice professionals. The services are provided through six sections; clinical nutrition, patient meal services, cafeteria & catering services, food production, food safety management and cost control and approximately 13,000-15,000 meals are served in a day.

Responsibilities
You will be responsible to:
Ensure that cafeteria related food stock rotation is being strictly followed i.e. bread/chappati/ fruit/prepared desserts, beverages, non-food requirements and chemicals etc.
Ensure the proper working condition and timely operation as per service timings of all electrical equipment units such as plate lowerater & bain-marie etc.
Ensure discipline and avoidance of loud conversation or misbehaviour among the shift staff and apprise supervisor in case of a difficult situation for corrective action.
Ensure that daily/weekend store requirement requisition is properly made and incharge signatures are obtained on the requisition prior to submitting store.
Report to supervisor in case of any employee/ patient complaints, behavioural or attitudinal problems or if any employee requires counselling.
Make sure that random food samples are prepared before each service and displayed as guide to service staff and customers.
Replace dishwashing/bain-marie water after each service or as directed.
Ensure that the food or dish washing temperatures are accurately maintained and recorded seven days a week and all malfunctioning of equipment which leads to a drop in food temperature are rectified immediately and logged and follow up action is taken and inform supervisor of the same.
Monitor the duty schedules for service and dish washing staff and that staff observe the dress code of the department.
Ensure that all cutlery, crockery and serving utensils are un‑chipped and are sufficient in quantity for the smooth cafeteria service(s).
Ensure various cleaning tasks i.e. cleaning of work areas, patient trolleys, bussing trollies fridges, dish washing machine and surrounding areas in sanitary condition and cleaning schedules are followed.
Handle food service outlets of on campus/off campus functions (including food transportation/physical setting/serving food to customer/maintaining cash where required) as directed by supervisor.
Requirements
Intermediate: 4-5 years of related work experience
Matriculate: 5-6 years of related work experience with service waiter experience of institutional/Five Star Hotel/Hospital Food Service.
Non-Matriculate: 7-8 years of related work experience with service waiter experience of institutional/Five Star Hotel/Hospital Food Service
