GC Estimator (US Estimation)

Job Description:

AESOM is actively hiring a detail-oriented and experienced General Contractor (GC) Estimator with at least 1 year of proven experience in U.S.-based construction estimation. This is a key role in our estimating team and requires deep familiarity with U.S. construction practices, tools, and pricing standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze architectural, structural and MEP drawings and specifications to prepare accurate cost estimates
  • Perform detailed quantity take-offs using digital estimation tools
  • Collaborate with internal teams and subcontractors to validate pricing
  • Identify risks, gaps, and potential cost-saving opportunities
  • Maintain and update cost databases and estimate logs

Requirements:

  • Minimum 1 year of hands-on experience in U.S. estimation (required)
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods and materials used in U.S. markets
  • Proficient in software like PlanSwift, Bluebeam, RSMeans, or similar
  • Excellent numerical accuracy, analytical skills, and communication
  • Ability to manage multiple bids and meet tight deadlines
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveyor, Construction Management, or related field
  • Prior experience with commercial or residential projects in the U.S.
  • Understanding of U.S. building codes and local regulations
  • Proficient in software like PlanSwift, Bluebeam or RSMeans
