Job Purpose: Manage the Site Quality Control laboratories (i.e., incoming materials testing, finished products testing and microbiological testing) to ensure compliance of laboratory activities and associated Quality systems with the requirements of the Haleon Quality Management system and all relevant regulatory and legislative requirements across the lifecycle of all products manufactured at Jamshoro. Establish and maintain Quality System for the Quality Control laboratories; ensure that Standard Operating Procedures are in place and that compliance with cGMP is maintained through ongoing training self-inspection and internal audits. Ensure the implementation and on-going monitoring of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and Key Quality Indicators (KQIs) for the Quality Control laboratories. Ensure that the Quality Control Laboratories operates in a cost effective and efficient manner and maintain an innovative approach based on productivity improvement and implementation of best practices. Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the Quality Control laboratories (i.e., raw materials testing finished products testing packaging material testing and microbiology testing). Provide analytical competence and technology (i.e., all persons are trained, and all equipment are latest and qualified) to the site so that all analytical activities comply with the Haleon Quality Management system using validated methods and meets current specification and regulatory expectations.
- Ensure proper planning and execution of testing of all samples and materials as per current specification.
- Ensure that lead and response time standards provide internal business customers with service levels that support key business performance requirements.
- Ensure service levels to external customers and patients meet established requirements and expectations. Implement workflow optimization initiatives to positively impact cycle time, productivity, and quality of work.
- To ensure to Incorporate Haleon QMS requirements and applicable local quality standards (e.g., GMP, ICH, ISO) and regulations into site policies, procedures, and processes. Manage timely and efficient document review/revision processes to ensure compliance with current standards.
- Establish key performance indicators (KPI) and quality performance indicators (QPI) for site QC operations. Develop efficient data gathering mechanisms, assess performance data, and implement actions that improve performance levels.
- Establish and actively maintain internal/external customer service relations in accordance with corporate shared values. Work with corporate and/or industry groups to share and implement best practices.
- Develop annual departmental objectives that incorporate Global Quality and site business performance initiatives. Link departmental objectives to individual goals and objectives using the performance review process.
- Use the performance review and talent management processes to maintain a high performance, energized work team. Construct succession plans for key positions.
- Ensure that adequate and timely support for all investigations (including OOS and OOE) and troubleshooting is provided, where needed in conjunction with nominated third parties and other involved Haleon functions to minimize impact on product availability and sales.
- Assist the local QA units with preparation, management and follow up of Health Authority inspections, as needed and Review and monitor action plans for correction of audit observations related to the Quality Control laboratories and follow-up as appropriate.
- Utilize active thinking to generate creative solutions to complex technical problems.
- Comply and ensure compliance to GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), Quality and other related policies, guidelines, and requirements as applicable by law and Haleon Corporate Guidelines.

- Any other responsibility assigned from time to time as per business requirements.
- MSc I Pharm D (Chemistry/ Microbiology/ Pharmacy).
- 10 - 15 years of relevant experience.
- Strong planning and organization skills.
- Good communication skills and customer focus.
- Proactive approach, ability to work independently and coordinate with cross functional teams.
- Strong IT skills.
- Ability to prioritize workload and handle pressure, interruptions, and multiple projects.
- Proven ability to work to tight deadlines with accuracy and confidence.
- Ability to take the initiative and driven by the desire for continuous improvement.
- Good understanding of business function and context e.g., specific regulatory requirements, standard practice etc.
- Good problem-solving ability.
- Good customer focus capability.
